Do You Live To Work Or Work To Live?
So do you live to work or work to live? See you either fall into one or the other. We are conditioned in school to study hard, get the qualifications and get a good secure job. The we are told that the better the job the better the lifestyle you will live!
Does this really pan out though? We all need money to live, that is pretty obvious as we need the basics of food, water, a roof over our head and clothing. You also need it to pay the bills at the end of the month. This would come under the “work to live” side of the equation.
Things then start to get tricky when we do get that promotion or say you come into some money. Your spending habits change as you tend to spend more.
You may buy a bigger house or a bigger car. You may tend to start putting things on credit because at the time you can afford it. What you don’t realise is that having the bigger house you then have bigger liabilities.
Your repayments on the credit cards get bigger and the car repayments start to become a struggle and you then start resenting the things that you have bought. Baiscally you are buying liabilities that you once did not have. Then suddenly you find that you are on the other side of the equation and you are now living to work!
Does all this sound familiar as I know that it does for myself. I would say that I have spent 50% of the last 30 years living to work! I have wanted things so I have either got them on credit or increased my mortgage which has made me have to work for money more & more.
As I am writing to you I am sitting in my holiday home in Cyprus which don’t get me wrong I love having but it means that I am now a product of the rat race culture of living to work every month having to get the money to honour my committments.
So I have become fed up with the live to work or work to live scenario and have been working to change it to instead of money controlling my life to making money work for me to give me a different equation which is to “live to live life”.
You can buy income producing assets as I have been reading in a particular book at the moment but what I am doing is building income producing assets that will work for me 24/7 and 365 days a year. All I will then have to do is monitor them daily to make sure that they are performing at the optimum.
So I am going to be building assets instead of buying liabilities. These assets wil then generate me income to be able to buy the finer things in life without them being a liability on my income. Do you see where I am coming from?
So what are these income producing assets? They are simple websites which I create or are already created for me. Once set up they are automated systems and my task then is to generate website traffic to them and then the systems then take over and work for me automatically.
It is a simple but brilliant concept. I am on hiliday at the moment as I have mentioned and within 24 hours I made over $2000. Half of that was made when I was on the aeroplane from the UK to Cyprus. This is how things can happen. Basically my holiday has been paid for by the system.
Now I am not at the point where I can quit my traditional cleaning business back in th UK but all my efforts now are to set up as many of these systems as I can.
These income generating assets work on auto-pilot so that one day I will stop living to work and I will live to live a life of freedom and choice.
You see they don’t teach this stuff at school but fortunately I am now being taught this from a special community of entrepreneurs headed by two multi miilionaires who have been there and done it and are now empowering others to do the same.
So don’t you want to live to live life to the fullest? It won’t happen overnight so you will need to put the work in from the outset. But you can do this in just a few hours a day to enable you to do the things that you want to do.
You will then find that money is working for you instead of the other way around!
