If You Don’t Know How To Get Motivated Then Here Are 6 Tips

Sometimes you just don’t know how to get motivated. Maybe you get easily bored and lose interest in just about anything and the fizz just goes out of the window. You are lethargic and the tinniest thing makes you irritated. Sometimes if you any thing like me you do not want to get out of bed in the morning, you keep hittint the snooze button for that extra 5 minutes.

Then to cap it all when you do get up and put the news on the television it’s all doom and gloom, either it’s the economy going down the drain or ther has been some natural disaster somewhere in the world. It seems that at certain periods in our life we seem to get into this cycle which we can’t seem to break.

The good news is that you are not alone and the even better news is that you can do something about it.

Here are some tips that to help you get motivated and get the spring back into your step.

1 – Step back and take a time out. If you are constantly stressed out you don’t need me to tell you that it wears you down and you find it hard to get enthusiastic about just about any thing. One of the best things to do to remove the stress and anxiety from your mind is simply to breathe. No that may sound an obvious statement but bear with me. It is a process of keeping your mind clear of any thoughts and taking slow deep breathes as well as allowing your muscles relax.

After doing this then quietly sit back to recharge your batteries. You should try and do this process at least once a day and if you can do it twice a day. Every body needs some quiet time or “me time” and hopefully doing this will enable you to find some peace inside.

2 – We all need inspiration. We can all get inspiration from either reading or listening to something that is uplifting, inspiring or motivating. Try and find something that is funny or look at something this is both colourful and beautiful. Develop a picture board, thing of the thing that you like and want and have them near and handy to look at and keep you focused.

Concentrating on business, work and all the daily tasks that need to be done can soon leave you totally deflated so try and bring positive thought into your mind. These thought sometimes will won’t just come to you so you have to actively seek things out that lighten your mood and raise your spirits.

Laughter is contagious so ensure that every day you make it a point to laugh, don’t take things to seriously, try and be lighthearte and most of all be happy. The thing is you have to create this world. One good tip is to keep a record of funny things that happen to you so when you do have a down time you can look back and recall happier and funnier times.

3 – Excitement. We all need excitement in our lives. Whether it is starting a new business or entering into a new relationship you get that special feeling. The excitment creates that 100% enthusiasm to make the plans that will ultimately create to outcome that you desire.

Sometimes and as time moves forward we all loose the excitment that motivated us to start with. That is just a natural reaction. The tip is to try to remember the feelings you had in the first place and then hold onto them.

Sometimes the actual tasks will not be anything to get excited about but the benefits of doing the tasks certainly will be. The more excited you are about your objectives the easier it will be to fullfil them.

4 – One step at a time. When we are about to start something new it can be very daunting and overwhelming. he tip is to take baby steps. Plan and list the steps that need to be done in a structured way. If neccesary allocate a time (say 30 minutes) for certain tasks. Once the time is up and you are finding it tough going then take a break and come back to it, you will find it easier second time around.

Sometimes you are in the flow so when the time comes up and you feel you want to carry on then do so. Everything you undertake has to be built from the foundations up. It is a detailed step by step process, you can’t move onto the next stage untill you have finished the part you are working on. However big the task seems it is so much eaasier to acheive when you break it down to bite sized steps.

5 – Looking after yourself. We often think of fatigueness as being a state of the mind but in many cases it can be the body not receiving what it needs to basically function. Make sure you are fuelling your body correctly.

Think of you body as a car. Meaning if you do not put petrol in it and you don’t change the filters then one day it will pack up on you.

Your body is the same, if you do not eat healthy, don’t keep yourself hydrated, don’t excercise and equally as important rest then it really hard to develope a motivated mindet. What’s the old saying “Healthy body, healthy mind”!

6 – Last but not least. Reward. – You must remember to reward yourself because if you don’t then what’s the point. Now I am not saying it always has to be something big. If you have just made your first sale in your business and it has taken a lot of hard work to achieve then celebrate it. Go out to dinner with your partner. You have proved that you can do it so enjoy it. You will find it easier to do it again because of that feeling of achievement and, rememeber what we were talking about earlier, excitement.

On a bigger scale if you have set a goal of buying a new car in 6 months and you earn that amount of money then go and but it. Just imagine the feeling when you open the curtains in the morning and see it sitting on your drive. It does not always have to be material things.

It may be that your goal is to enable you to spend more time with the family. This surely has to be the most important thing in life. Picking up the kids from school or being at home when they get home. If this is the case then how good will it feel to take them down the park.

I hope that this has helped you and given you some ideas on how to get motivated. Sometimes it seems the hardest thing in the world but if you can apply any of these 6 tips then you may find it easier than what thought.
