If you are waking up in the morning dreading the day ahead then why don’t you think about going self employed?

Just think about this. By going self employed and working hard then the fruits of your labour will go to one person. You! Would you like to stop making other people richer.

Are you fed up busting a gut for your boss who does not appreciate you? They are constantly demanding more and content in giving you less. They are never satisfied and they pick you up on every little mistake that you make as though it is the end of the world!

Basically you are a number on the payroll and can be replaced at any time with some lame excuse.

If this is your life right now and you want out and change your life then there is only one person who can do that and that my friend is you!

I was in this position 25 years ago. I had a boss who let’s just say was a Jekyll & Hyde character. One day he could be the nicest bloke in the world and on other days you could see his personality change in front of your eyes like a volcano about to erupt. For no apparent reason. Talk about walking on eggshells!

One day he had a go at me because I had 2 days stubble yet he had a beard. Work that one out! Anyway I was appreciative that he gave me an opportunity but I lost respect for him so I sacked him!

Going self employed was the best thing professionally I have ever done. It’s hard graft but there are son many doors that open up for you and the opportunities are endless. All you need to do is come up with some good ideas and develop them. One of the major benefits of going self employed is that you are in control of your business and life. Your time is worth far more than what you are being paid and don’t let anybody tell you otherwise. If you need more money then go and get some more work. It is that simple!

Imagine if you went to your boss and asked for a pay rise. The majority of the time you would get a one word answer. I am sure you know what this is but just in case it starts with an N and ends with an O.

So what are you going to do about it? Stay spinning your wheels and getting frustrated or take action and change the situation.

In 2014 there are so many opportunities to fulfill your aspirations of going self employed.

Back in 1990 there were still a lot of opportunities but they were let’s just say the more traditional business models. Bricks and mortar and services industries. I picked the latter but only after giving retail ago.

I set myself up with a mobile market stall business. Great life and met some fantastic people but at the end of the day I did not make any money. The United Kingdom at that time was going through the cycle of recession. Large discount stores were springing up left, right and center and supermarkets were killing people like myself who were selling clothes.

So I got out and set up a cleaning business. Talk about chalk and cheese in the product I was delivering but there was an opportunity, even in a recession, to start another business and not go back to the corporate world.

So fast forward back to today. Technology is amazing at the moment and it is only going to get better and better. You could literally set up a business online in just a few days leveraging the technology that is available. That is not hype it is fact.

So much so that I am in the process of setting up internet based businesses that will replace my cleaning business within the next two years. How do I Know this will happen? Well it is because I will make it happen. I have the opportunity to do this and so can you. Again that is fact and not hype.

Nowadays many businesse can be operated from home. It is becoming very popular to work from your home office.

Just imagine this commute. Instead of buses, trains and motorways you could simply walk downstairs from your bedroom and be at work. Imagine the amount of time you could save and how much more productive you could be. Your stress levels would be so low they would be more or less horizontal. You could have all this with the knowledge that there is no boss bearing down on you like a ton of bricks.

Before I go I would just like you to look at this picture of myself. It was taken about 3 years ago. This will be my office in spring 2016. It is my balcony at my home in Cyprus and this is where I will be living and working. Not a bad office I hope that you agree.

It is in now way meant to be seen as me being flash. I am not rich, I am not a millionaire. I am just a normal bloke who with my wife Lynn has worked hard for many years and we have our little bit of paradise in the sun. Anybody can do what we have done. All it takes is hard work.

I have been self employed for 24 years and my wife has been self employed in the past. She has a regular jod at this moment in time but she will be working with me when we go to Cyprus. I will be able to do business in all four corners of the world and have access to millions of people.

Now I am not saying you have to move to another country, that is my choice and the business model that I will operating will allow me to do that. Obviously you can do the same business model anywhere as long as you have an internet connection.

What I am saying is that you can build any life that you want for yourself and your family.

If you are prepared to work hard then going self employed could be the best decision that you ever make and it could enable you to fulfill your lifehood dreams. Ask yourself if you could achieve that working for somebody else.
