Discover 5 Blogging Tips To Help You Make Money From Your Blog

So You Want To Know How To Make Money Blogging

Blogging is a powerful way to share information over the internet. It is also fun to make money blogging. The problem that some people have though is to come up with ideas on just what to blog about. This one thing will often make poeple quit before they start. I know that is a contradiction of terms but hopefully you get where I am coming from.

So I thought I would let you know what I think are the essential 5 blogging tips which will put you on the right path to make money blogging.

informationInformation – The internet was initially set up as a source of information. People use Google & Bing to find out things, information, so the best thing that you can do is give it to them. Usually people are looking for a solution to their problem.

Thing about what you use the internet for, why you use it and put yourself as the person who is reading your blog. If you have a blog about cake decoration then explain what resources you will need to actually decorate the cake. It may seem obvious to you but it isn’t to that person, that is why there are here, to find out.

Keep it simple and give the facts because that is what people want. If people find what you are blooging about informative then they will keep coming back for more.

educationEducation – Try not to get confused between education and information, there are some subtle differences. Education is meant to be more of telling people on how to do things or in other words instructional. If you are a carpet cleaner then instruct the person on the process, the pre cleaning, the extraction and then the drying.

If you specialize as an educational blogger then you must concentrate on giving tips on how to perform the task.

inspirationInspiration – This is where you can get the personal aspect into your blog. If you have been successful within a specific topic then share your story. Tell poeple how you did it, what it took to succeed, give people the insiration to in effect copy you.

Relate to that person, write as if you are talking to them face to face. I have personally done that by writing a book on how to start a Window Cleaning Business and it is published on Amazon Kindle. I explained my whole story, how I got started, how I got over the bad times and how other people can do the same. What I did was to imagine the person who was reading the book was in the same position that I was in. The writing then became easy.

Now I am not saying make a blog post into a book but to adopt that principle into your writing.

entertainmentEntertainment – Nobody wants to read something that is boring so make it entertaining. I don’t mean that you have to be a stand up comic but make it humorous, put some personality into your blog post. Try not to make blogging into a robotic, monatone script.

Try to incorporate images, videos and audio into the blog post. They say that “Pictures Paint A Thousand Words” so use them, they are stimulating and people are very likely to share them on social media. This has a “Word Of Mouth Effect” meaning that it attracts people to your blog so you start to build more realtionships.

promotionPromotion – This is where making money blogging comes into effect. This is where you can monatize you blog. While this is major factor it is essential that you do not over promote.

Your emphasis should be to provide value to you reader while gently coaxing them to what is called a “Call To Action“. Now this can be getting them to subscribe to your newsletter or to a specific paid offer.

There are some differences of opinion as to what ratio of promotion to posts you should promote. Some people go by the 80/20 rule meaning only 1 in 5 posts should have a promotion in it. Some people say promote all the time. Myself I have settled on around 30%. I feel that people will get fed up if I promote all the time but there are a certain percentage of people who quite frankly need to be told what to do so for me I settle for around 1 in 3 posts I will put a call to action at the bottom of the post.

I adopt another subtle way of promoting in my posts. In a post with no obvious call to action I will link a particular word or phrase to another page within the website which has a call to action in it, thereby not being obviously promoting all the time.

Blogging is a great way to portray your personality which is sometimes the most important thing. If people can get to know you through your blogging they are more likely to come back for more. The more they like the more chance you have to turn them from a reader to a subscriber or a customer.

I hope that you have enjoyed this insight into blogging and that it has given you some ideas that you can incorporate into your own blogs.

As always I wish you well
